Nollywood has the highest number of nominations for the 2017 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). The list was unveiled by the AMAA jury on Sunday.
The Nigerian drama thriller film ’93 Days’ got the highest nominations in 7 categories.
The categories include: Award For Best Nigerian Film, Award For Achievement in Soundtrack, Award For Achievement in Sound, Award For Best Director, Award For Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Award For Best Actress in a Leading Role and Award for Best Film.
The story of ‘93 Days’ centers on the sacrifices made by men and women who risked their lives to make sure the Ebola Virus. The movie is also dedicated to late Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh who played a key role in the containment of Ebola in Nigeria.
It features A-list actors like Bimbo Akintola, Danny Glover, Somkhele Idhalama, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey among others.
’93 Days’ was directed by Steve Guaks and produced by Bolanle Austen-Peters, Dotun Olakunri and Pemon Rami.
