Getrude Mwita is a Tazanian actress and was born in 1993 at Mara, Tarime. She is the last child from a family of four. She grew up having a passion in acting and one of her early role models were Lulete Kumelo, Yvonne Cherrie and Viola Davis. Growing up, she participated in School Plays such as Ngoswe Penzi Kitovu cha Uzembe written by the Legendary Late Edwin Semzaba.
Her debut in Film industry commenced in 2013, in a Film called STELLAH, then several other films followed such as HILA HAIJENGI (Main Cast), MAHARIYA DADA (Supporting Character) and so many others. Then 2016 was a year of revelation, as I got a
chance to showcase my Talent via TV Series named MAMA MKUBWA as Main Cast and Also DSTV’s Hot
blazing HUBA as Supporting Character via Maisha Magic Bongo.
She was nominated in category of Best upcoming Actress in Action and Cut awards 2014.
Furthermore in 2016, She was appointed as an Ambassador of Haki Elimu.
She speaks Swahili and English fluently.
